Cars, Serious Cars!

I was asked to photograph a few cars last week and being a car lover of course I said yes, what I didn't expect was the range of beauty and savage power between them all. Aston Martin GT2.

Unfortunately the Aston is a pure track car with one seat and nothing else, so I was offered a ride in the WRC Escort Cosworth. What I noticed as I climbed in was the lack of, well, everything! I clipped myself into the 5 point racing harness and heard the loud growl of the 360bhp engine start. As we started off I was told not to touch the handle next to my right hand, this was the hydraulic brake, that allows for handbrake turns on the course and is very effective!

Pulling out onto the road I'm pushed back into my seat, leaving my stomach behind, as the turbo kicks in with savage force. The noise is deafening and amplified with all the stripped back to metal cockpit.

What can I say about the little Cosworth, it was unbelievably loud, cold, uncomfortable (not used to harnesses) and smelt of petrol but what it did do was put a MASSIVE smile on my face, one of the best driving experiences of my life, I want to go rallying now!

RAC Club Magazine

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of being asked by RAC Club Magazine to photograph three classic cars and their modern counterparts. The cars were Fiat 500, Porsche 911 and Land Rover, they were all beautiful cars and I was a very jealous photographer! You can read the full article and see more owners and their cars on the link here.
